Indelible marks made through trauma are hidden, when possible, through a transparent shield, but can be glimpsed when scrutinized closely. We are forever changed by trauma’s indelible marks, but they can be transformed into marks of beauty in an altered surface as we heal. A silk tracksuit jacket is altered as a base layer with 3 functioning zippers hiding the traumas and original functionality of the jacket. Now the three pockets hold hidden personal items of trauma and inspiration.
